SUMMARY:On Seeing the Sound in a Changing Environment
DESCRIPTION:Krause (2013) says "a picture is worth a thousand words\, but a
  soundscape is worth a thousand pictures". This showcases the power of sou
 nd in both conveying information and evoking emotion.\n\nIn this workshop\
 , we will explore the world of sounds to understand nature-human dynamics 
 in various spatial and temporal aspects. Hearing is different from listeni
 ng\, and we engage in active listening of sound\, visualizing them using s
 ome free softwares are also part of this workshop. The landscape is changi
 ng and so is the time and climate. How our active listening and recording 
 the sound help in understanding these changes and also start creating repo
 sitories for endangered sounds. Eg- the sound from Kabadiwala on a Sunday 
 morning or door-to-door playing of Nadaswara in the mornings of Karthika m
 asa could be examples of spatial and temporally embedded sound.\n\nPartici
